Archeologist

Doug Smith

My name is Doug Smith and I’m an Antiquarian.

Motivation

I’m an honest antiques dealer now. Honestly!

I have an old partner in crime, smuggler George Cassidy, with who I was in the business of selling strange and exotic goods. He later on became a lighthouse keeper up on Beacon Island, of all things!

After I was nearly busted years ago (because Cassidy always leaves a paper trail), I vowed to cease my life of crime and obtain respectable occupations. I decided to exploit my knowledge of antiques and fancy goods and went legit as an antiques dealer.

Ideology/Beliefs

Traits

Loyal – to a point.

Suspicious and cautious – I have a lot to lose if anyone else finds out who I used to be.

Significant people

My business partner. He knows about my past but trusts me when I say that I’m a reformed character – and I’m grateful for that.

Treasured possessions

Jeweler’s loupe – I never go anywhere without it

Madness

Involuntary action: drops whatever they happen to be holding.

Bout of madness: paranoia; becomes convinced everyone knows about their past and intends to turn them in to the police at the first opportunity. “Why are you looking at me like that, eh? What do you know? Tell me! Tell me!”
